Strength &
Conditioning
11 to 15 August 2025
Strength and Conditioning training seeks to develop all of the physical and mental skills required to be a strong fit and confident athlete. No matter your age, gender or ability level, you can improve your athletic ability, health, and fitness through strength and conditioning training. Fettes College would like to invite you to dive into the world of strength and conditioning, meet like-minded athletes from a variety of sports, and have fun whilst learning the skills you need to improve yourself as an athlete and as a person.

Camp
Ethos
As well as the importance of developing strong physical and mental skills, Dave and his team strongly believe in the importance of learning social skills such as teamwork, humility and kindness. These attributes are vital in a sporting environment, both individual and team. Your child's confidence will grow throughout the week and our aim is for every child to leave the camp with the knowledge and skills required to elevate their own athletic training. The camp is designed to be high energy as well as being a productive learning environment. There will be a balanced schedule of physical training sessions as well as workshops designed to improve knowledge of sport nutrition, sports psychology, and recovery tactics for athletes.

Head Coach
Dave Allan
Born in Dundee and raised in Perthshire, Dave has always been involved in sport and exercise. Playing rugby throughout his childhood led to a trip to Australia to play competitive rugby in Brisbane. Upon his return to Scotland Dave continued to play competitive rugby in the Scottish borders and later in Edinburgh. This immersion in competitive rugby union nurtured a passion for athletic development, leading Dave to complete an undergraduate and master's degree in Strength & Conditioning. Following his studies, Dave spent time working with Hearts Football Club Academy as well as working with young talented athletes at Oriam, Scotland's Centre for Performance.
